Nighthawk power forward, Jordan Shepherd, has made his commitment to play hockey for Embry- Riddle College, in Daytona Florida.

“We are excited that Jordan will be continuing his hockey career as he plans for his future as a pilot,” said Coach Brett Tryder. “Shep was a player that worked, daily, to improve his game and became a key player for us by the end of the season. He was a really fun player to coach and he was a great guy have around. He plays an NHL style game and I have no doubt that he will be a big part of the hockey program at Embry- Riddle.”

Shepherd added: “I really enjoyed my time with the Nighthawks organization. The
facilities in Simsbury were very welcoming and accommodating for the
players and the resources were key in helping me develop. Coach Tryder
was motivating and professional with what I needed to work on and made
sure I had the resources available to push my development forward.
Skating 2 times a day and having 2 sheets of ice along with having a gym
and video room available inside the rink were extremely beneficial. I am
excited to take my lessons and experience from the Nighthawks to
Embry-Riddle and am thankful for everything the organization gave me.”

Jordan finished the season with 7 goals and 5 assists in 42 games and was a solid two way player.
